Job Description
Locum Ready is hiring a Practice Nurse to provide reliable nursing clinics within a friendly GP practice team in Wallsend.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver treatment room duties including wound care, dressings and injections
• Provide cervical screening in line with current guidance where trained
• Support chronic disease monitoring clinics such as asthma, COPD or diabetes as required
• Administer immunisations and vaccinations following national schedules
• Undertake ECGs, blood pressure checks and general health checks as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation, coding and stock control in clinical areas
Requirements
• NMC registration with recent experience as a Practice Nurse in primary care
• Competence in treatment room tasks and immunisations
• Cytology qualification preferred if you plan to provide smear clinics
• Up to date mandatory training including safeguarding and infection control
• Confident communicator with a patient centred approach
• Eligibility to work in the UK and completion of compliance checks
Working Pattern
• Up to 3 days per week with flexibility on which clinics you cover
• Part time sessions with the option to add extra shifts when available
• Clinic mix can be agreed based on your skill set and preferences
